This Easter is going to be one I will never forget! EM will be confirmed in the Catholic Church!
Being a big occasion, we decided to rent a beach house and host family and friends for the weekend. We will have anywhere from 6-8 kids under the age of 5 attending, so we thought it would be fun to have a big Easter egg hunt Easter morning. However, for any decent egg hunt, one needs a basket; so I had the clever idea of doubling the Easter Basket as a welcome basket. *spoiler alert for those attending*
There were so many options, fabric, plastic, wicker. I ended up finding these at Target – inexpensive and super cute!
Aside from the usual candy (which will be involved) I love finding things that fit the holiday and fit the theme. Easter at the Beach! So what better than some Seas The Day cups found at our local garden center?! Then I found these adorable little egg-shaped plates at .. Target of course! Thank you dollar spot!
As we were making our rounds Theo found this bunny and immediately got attached, so we HAD to buy it. Later on I found the rattle, which was perfect as this will be a First Easter for two of the babies attending.
We recently adopted a tradition in our family, where we buy state themed books for each holiday. Currently we have A Halloween Scare in Virginia (which is one of Bastian’s favorite books!) and Goodnight Cavaliers. – Ok – so starting a tradition, but it was only natural that when we saw The Littlest Bunny in Virginia: An Easter Adventure we had to have it and had to add it to our welcome basket/Easter basket. Not to mention I think it goes rather well with the bunny Theo picked out! Like a little read along buddy.
Ultimately Easter is about so much more than egg hunts and baskets. However, the ability to come together to celebrate the Resurrection and EM’s conversion with some of our dearest family and friends is incredibly special!
Do y’all have any must do family traditions for Easter? Egg hunt vs Basket? Would love to hear how y’all celebrate and what special goodies will be involved!

So excited about EM coming into the church! I used to sing in the choir so the Triduum/Easter was always busy. I LOVE the Easter Vigil and even if I don’t know anyone being received into the church, I try to be there as a general show of support and welcoming. We usually host a brunch or go to brunch but DH has to work this year so I haven’t quite figured out yet what the girls and I will do. So excited for the joy and grace this Easter will bring your family!

Love brunch and love how you would go to support those entering the church, even if you didn’t know them personally. What an amazing sense of community!!
