Some days you really feel your humanity. You feel your flaws. You feel your lack of grace. And you ask God, why on earth did you choose me.
You get angry, you yell, you feel out of control, and yet at the end of the day you are met with smiles. You are met with the most forgiving heart. You are met with little faces that love you despite it all.
Motherhood is hard. It is the most difficult thing many of us will ever do. Because you can’t always check out. You can’t say, “Hey I’m having a bad day I’ll just go home. I’ll clock out early.” You are on the clock 24/7. You give and give and sometimes you feel like you’re always falling short.
The love you have for these little ones is so abundant that it makes your heart burst. You’d do anything, and go anywhere for them. Yet sometimes you feel like you are their worst enemy.
Life is full of seasons. Ones of joy, ones of sadness, ones of deep hurt. But it is in those moments that I thank God for the gift of forgiveness. For the gift of a new day. For the gift of redemption. For the gift of a little boy who when he sees his mommy crying he simply says “ok?”. Yes, sweet boy. Mommy will be ok.
