Thanksgiving may be my favorite non religious holiday! A time to come together with family and friends, enjoying each others company, and eating the yummiest of food!
So when I heard that Sebastian’s teacher wanted to have a class Thanksgiving Feast – I knew I had to make little turkeys as parting gifts. But not the usual pinterest inspired plastic bag turkeys – no! Reusable, Recycled Plastic snack stackers from Re-Play Recycled! It’s no secret that we LOVE Re-Play Recycled in our house – so when it came time to create a unique and reusable gift for Sebastian’s class, I couldn’t think of anything better! We even “stuffed” our bird with little snacks!
Here is the simplest tutorial you will ever follow! So simple even EM was up until 2am making them with me! Yes…he’s a good man!
Materials Needed: Re-Play Recycled Snack Stackers.
Colored paper (not construction paper as I don’t find it to be structured enough).
Scissors
A glue stick.
Googly eyes.
Hot glue gun.
1. On brown paper, trace and cut out a circle, using the stacker cup.
2. Cut the feathers, feet, beak and dangly thing (yes that’s the technical term) out of orange, red, brown, and yellow paper. I free handed it each time, so all of the turkeys are different.
3. Glue the feet and feathers with your glue stick to the brown circle.
4. Hot glue the stacker cup to the brown circle, leaving the feet exposed.
5. Lift up the feathers.
6. Hot glue dangly thing and beak to bird face.
7. Add googly eyes.
8. Fill with snack!.
9. Rejoice that I kept this whole tutorial to less than 10 steps.
10. BaDaBoom BaDaBing! You have cute little turkeys!
